Product safety & compliance
Safe jewelry is a given for us. On this page you can read who is responsible for the products in our shop, which materials we use, how to wear your jewelry safely and what to do if something does go wrong.
Manufacturer and responsible person in the EU
Charmhabit sells jewelry under its own name and is the manufacturer and the responsible economic operator in the EU for the products in this shop.

Materials
Our jewelry is made of stainless steel with a gold-tone or silver-tone finish, combined with freshwater pearls and cubic zirconia stones. The exact material of each piece is listed on the product page under “Details”. A gold-tone or silver-tone finish does not mean the piece is made of solid gold or silver.
Nickel and sensitive skin
Metals, including stainless steel, can contain traces of nickel. That is why we do not describe our jewelry as nickel-free or hypoallergenic. If you know you react to certain metals, email us before you order, with the name of the piece. We will share the material information we have for that item. Take a piece off if your skin reacts to it.
The rules we follow
We sell in the European Union and, as the seller, we are responsible for the safety of our products under the European product safety rules (Regulation (EU) 2023/988) and the rules on substances in products (REACH). Would you like to know which material information we have for a specific item? Email us with the product name.
Wearing and caring for your jewelry safely
- Not suitable for children under 3 years (small parts).
- Avoid contact with perfume, chlorine and salt water.
- Stop wearing in case of skin irritation.
Take your jewelry off when you shower, swim or exercise, store it dry and apart from other jewelry, and clean it with a soft, dry cloth. You will find more tips under Jewelry care. Always follow the instructions on the product page as well.
Reporting a safety problem
Has a piece broken and left sharp edges, has a part come loose, or did you get symptoms after wearing it? Take it off and stop using it. If you need medical help, get that first.
Then email charmhabit.com@gmail.com with the subject “Product safety” and include:
- your order number and the name of the piece;
- what happened;
- a photo of the piece and, if you have it, of the packaging.
Please keep the piece until we have replied. You will hear from us within 2 business days. Your legal rights always apply, see also Warranty and complaints.
Product recalls
If a product turns out to be a safety risk, this is what we do:
- We stop selling the product immediately.
- We contact everyone who bought it from us and tell them what to do. Usually that means to stop using it.
- You choose between a free replacement or a refund of your purchase price. Returning it is free and you do not need to give a reason.
- Where the rules require it, we report the recall to the supervisory authority (in the Netherlands the NVWA).
